The famous Porsche 959 model is celebrating its 30th anniversary and a special exhibition at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, is dedicated to this event. It will be running until 10 January 2016.

It was in 1985 that Porsche came up with the fully-developed version of the 959 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Powered by a 2.85-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six unit producing 450 hp, the Porsche 959 was the world’s fastest production car at the time of its launch with a top speed of 314 km/h. The production of the vehicle was limited to 292 units and is considered one of the most highly sought-after collector’s vehicles today.

The exhibition also includes one of just 29 vehicles constructed as an enhanced-performance sports version, the Porsche 959 S, and the original 1983 Porsche 959 concept car. Not to forget, there is also the Porsche 918 Spyder and a stunning Porsche 961 – a sports prototype based around the 959.
