Morgan’s first electric car, the Morgan EV3, is set to be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. This specific car is the product of a £6 million investment made by the British government and will enter into production at the end of 2016.
The Morgan EV3 is a mixture of old-world styling with modern technology: it is built into the platform of the Morgan Three Wheeler, and it offers zero emissions motoring. The Morgan EV3 weighs in at less than 500 kg with a range of approximately 150 miles. The mixture of reduced weight and instant power allows the EV3 to reach 62 mph in just 9 seconds with a top speed in excess of 90 mph.
The liquid cooled motor puts out 46kW with a 20KWh Lithium Battery. Brass conductive cooling fins encase the batteries. Inside, the Morgan EV3 gets an entirely new dashboard arrangement. A classic ‘magneto’ switch helps shift between drive modes, Morgan fit a digital screen and include wood, brass and polished aluminium.
